Thamesville man charged with impaired driving in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 22-year-old Thamesville man is facing charges after Chatham-Kent police stopped a vehicle as part of a road safety initiative.

Police said the stop was conducted on Queen Street in Chatham on September 9 around 2:06 a.m. The driver failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.

He was taken to police headquarters for additional testing and later charged with operating a vehicle while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

The man was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on September 25.
