Chatham man charged after Tilbury assault leaves victim injured

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Chatham man has been charged following an assault in Tilbury that left a 60-year-old man requiring medical attention.

Police said officers responded to Young Street around 4:30 p.m. Saturday after a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation outside the victim’s residence.

According to police, a 38-year-old man from Chatham-Kent pushed the victim from a chair and continued to assault him. The victim suffered minor injuries but required further medical care.

The accused was arrested and charged with assault and assault causing bodily harm. He was later released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 27.
