Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Six separate impaired driving incidents occurred across Chatham-Kent between September 26 and 29, resulting in multiple charges.
On September 27 at 10:58 p.m., police stopped a vehicle on Grand Avenue in Chatham after receiving information the driver may be impaired. A 33-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and 80 mgs plus.
At 11:26 p.m. the same evening, a traffic stop was conducted on James Street in Wallaceburg. After a roadside test, a 61-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with 80 mgs plus.
At 11:34 p.m., officers received information about a possible impaired driver and located the vehicle on Simcoe Lane in Chatham. A 42-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and 80 mgs plus.
On September 28 at 2:38 a.m., officers observed a vehicle being driven erratically and conducted a traffic stop. After a standardized field sobriety test, a 23-year-old driver was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and 80 mgs plus.
That evening at 10:30 p.m., officers observed a vehicle at a Richmond Street business being driven with open alcohol. A 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with operation of a conveyance and 80 mgs plus.
On September 29 at 12:19 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. After the driver refused to comply with a roadside test, the driver was arrested and charged with failing to comply with demand.
In each case, the drivers received a 90-day licence suspension and a seven-day impoundment of their vehicle.
Police thanked the community for reporting dangerous driving behaviours and reminded the public that impaired driving poses a serious risk to everyone on the road.
