OPP officials allege: A 58-year-old man has been charged following a farming accident that claimed the life of a teenager in North Middlesex last month.
Emergency crews were called to a farm on Parkhill Drive around 4:03 p.m. on September 20 after reports of a farming accident. Middlesex County OPP, Lambton County paramedics and local firefighters responded to the scene.
Police say a 15-year-old from Arkona was found unconscious in a well on the property. The youth was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead.
The OPP’s Crime Unit, along with the Ministry of Labour and the Office of the Coroner, conducted a joint investigation.
As a result, a 58-year-old North Middlesex man has been charged with causing death by criminal negligence.
He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on December 18, 2025.
