The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation’s 8th Annual Benefit Gala raised more than $182,000 on Friday, Oct. 24, in support of hospice care for local families.
The sold-out event brought in a total of $182,171, including a $30,000 donation made during the evening. Guests enjoyed a night of fine dining, live and silent auctions, and a heartfelt speech from a local family who shared their personal experience with hospice care.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who joined us and to our generous sponsors, particularly our Title Sponsor, Victory Lincoln,” said Marian Redford, chair of the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation Board of Directors. “Your incredible support ensures that local families continue to receive vital residential hospice care, grief support, and care navigation at no cost to them. A heartfelt thank you also goes to our guest speaker, who kindly shared their family’s experience, helping us all understand the profound impact your contributions have.”
Adding to the excitement, the Golden Ticket raffle gave 100 attendees a chance to win an exclusive auction experience and two tickets to next year’s gala. Lisa Clement took home the prize, selecting the Sweet Party Suite at a Windsor Spitfires game. The Mittons Jewellers Diamond Draw also drew attention, with Deb Gillier winning a pair of 18K white gold earrings set with .73 carats of natural Canadian diamonds.
All proceeds from the event will go toward the ongoing operations of Chatham-Kent Hospice, which provides compassionate, no-cost end-of-life care and grief support to families across the region.
