Municipal and health services adjust hours for Remembrance Day

Municipal offices and most services will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11 in recognition of Remembrance Day, though several essential and recreation services will continue to operate as usual.

All arenas, leaf and yard depots, pools and waste depots will remain open regular hours. Ride CK Transit services will also operate on Tuesday.

Arts and culture facilities including CKTickets/Box Office, Chatham Capitol Theatre, Kiwanis Theatre, Chatham Cultural Centre, Chatham-Kent Museum, Thames Art Gallery and ARTspace will be closed. Ridge House Museum and Milner House are already closed for the season.

Cemetery Operations staff will be available on call for funeral homes needing lot sales or internment orders.

CK Public Health will be closed Tuesday, with essential after-hours services available by calling 1-866-446-8207. Due to the Public Health lab schedule, well water sample drop-off will be paused starting Monday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. until regular hours resume Wednesday, Nov. 12.

All EarlyON programs, Employment and Social Services, Housing Services, Fleet Services, Entegrus offices and the Public Utilities Commission will be closed Tuesday. Those experiencing homeless emergencies can contact the Homeless Response Line at 519-354-6628. Entegrus customers can report emergencies at 519-352-6300.

Police, Fire and Ambulance services will continue operating 24 hours a day. The Fire Administration Office will be closed Tuesday, reopening Wednesday at 8:30 a.m.

All library branches and administrative offices will be closed, though virtual services remain available at www.ckpl.ca. The Provincial Offences Court, Tourism Services, and both Chatham and Dresden Service Ontario locations will also be closed.

Riverview Gardens’ administrative offices and reception will be closed Tuesday, but services, activities and visiting hours will continue as normal. Nursing staff are available 24/7 at 519-352-4823.

Waste and recycling collection will not be affected during the week of Nov. 11. Residents are encouraged to refer to the 2025 Recycling and Waste Collection Guide for details.

Meanwhile, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance has also announced service changes at its Chatham and Wallaceburg sites for the Remembrance Day holiday.

Some outpatient diagnostic tests will proceed as scheduled, and patients with appointments are advised to attend. Departments will remain staffed to meet the needs of inpatients and emergencies.

Ambulatory Care Services, Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, Pre-Surgical Screening, Diabetes Education Centre, TIA and CAD Clinics, Pulmonary Function Lab, Outpatient Lab Services, Health Records and Patient Appointment Offices will be closed Tuesday.

The Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program Outpatient Department and the Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic will also be closed. Anyone experiencing a crisis is urged to call 1-866-299-7447 or visit the nearest emergency room.

Elston Pharmacy and the Oncology/Chemotherapy Department at the Chatham site will be closed, along with the Business Office and Cashier’s Office. Two bill changers will remain available in the building for those needing coins.

Hemodialysis Care will remain open on Tuesday. Emergency Departments at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will continue operating 24 hours a day.
