Mike Yakubowich, a resident of Thamesville, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at his home at the age of 65.
Born in Chatham, the son of the late William “Honky Odie” 1985 and Jeanne (Richardson) Yakubowich 2004.
Best friend and soulmate of 21 years to Gina.
Loving dad of Amanda Yakubowich, Chris Yakubowich, Jessica Pratt (Austin) and Joe Duff (Jordan).
Proud Papa of Madison, Mason, Maxwell, Bowen and Stella-Jean.
Cherished brother of Dave Yakubowich “Tickets”.
Remembered by his niece Teagan and nephew Drew.
Dear son-in-law of Jerry Zruna (the late Emma-Jean 2007). Loved brother-in-law of Steve Zruna (Christy), Chris Zruna (Sam) and Jodi Huys (Dave).
Mike was a man that spent over 40 years behind the wheel of an 18 wheeler.
He loved the open road and the 1980’s culture of trucking.
He was known by the CB handle “Snoman” just like Smokey and the Bandit. Rightly so by his owning a black Trans Am and a Kenworth Truck.
If it had a high performance motor, Mike was part of that love.
From snowmobile drag racing to car drag racing to tractor pulling.
And if it was a tractor…it had to be a green John Deere.
Mike also had a love of animals, especially his little buddy Tito.
The Yakubowich family will remember Mike privately.
A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held at Royal Canadian Legion Br. 113, Dresden at a later date.
