LKDSB encourages nominations for Prime Minister’s Awards

The Lambton Kent District School Board is inviting school communities to nominate outstanding educators for the 2026 Prime Minister’s Awards, which honour exceptional teachers and early childhood educators across Canada.

The annual awards recognize educators who demonstrate remarkable dedication, innovation and leadership in their work with students. Categories include Teaching Excellence, which highlights elementary and secondary teachers preparing youth for a digital and innovation-driven economy; Teaching Excellence in STEM, which celebrates educators advancing student achievement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics; and Early Childhood Education, which honours early childhood educators who foster strong foundations for lifelong learning.

Award recipients receive national recognition, a certificate from the Prime Minister and promotion of their best teaching practices.

The nomination deadline is January 14, 2026. Additional information and nomination forms are available through the federal program’s website.

The LKDSB says many of its educators go above and beyond every day, and encourages community members to help showcase their contributions by submitting a nomination.
