Police charge Sarnia man with impaired driving in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 41-year-old Sarnia man is facing impaired driving charges after police were alerted to a vehicle of concern travelling in Chatham on Nov. 24.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service received the complaint from Sarnia Police Service around 7:33 p.m., with the Ontario Provincial Police forwarding the information to local officers. Police located the vehicle on St. Clair Street and noted the driver showed signs of impairment.

He was arrested and taken to police headquarters for breath testing, where he provided two samples above the legal limit. He was charged with impaired operation and operation while over 80 milligrams. The accused was released with a court date set for Dec. 30.

Police thanked Sarnia Police Service and the OPP for their assistance.
