Bernice Angeline Burns, age 87 years of Courtright.
Loving wife of 68 years to Pat Burns. Much loved mother of Gary Burns (Jean) of Mooretown, John Burns (Deb) of Corunna, Don Burns (Karen) and Ken Burns (Lislee) all of Courtright.
Treasured grandmother of Brent, Carlie, Lindsay, Rachel and Hali and cherished great-grandmother of Serena, Carson, Madison, Ruby, Hudson and Royce. Bernice was the loving sister of Roland Sterling (Louella), Rose Pickford (Jerry), Ivan Sterling, Ed Sterling (Janet), Elaine Shaw (Brian) and Dan Sterling (Vicky) and sister-in-law of Meryl Burns and Ron Burns (Sharon).
Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Bernice was predeceased by; her parents, Oscar and Mary Anne Sterling; her sister, Beulah Authier and by her brothers-in-law, Oscar Authier, Art Bernard, Alec Arnold (late Joanne), Bob Burns (late Betty), James Burns and Tom Burns (late Rita).
Bernice will be fondly remembered as being a longtime member of St. Charles/St. Joseph’s CWL. and the Courtright Fire Ladies.
A special thanks is extended to the Dr’s and Nurses on 4th Floor Telemetry and 5th Floor Palliative Care at Bluewater Health for their compassion and care shown to Bernice and her family during her brief stay there.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Corunna on Friday November 28, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr.
Ray Lawhead celebrating. Cremation has taken place and Bernice will be placed in the Columbarium at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Lambton at a later date.
In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Church, Corunna or to the Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit.
