Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 40-year-old Chatham man has turned himself in after a warrant was issued in connection with a domestic incident earlier in the day.
Police say they were called shortly after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday to a residence in Chatham, where a verbal dispute had escalated. A 38-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted and forcibly confined. Officers later issued a warrant for the accused on charges of assault and forcible confinement.
At about 2 p.m., the man surrendered at Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters. He was arrested, charged and released with conditions. A court date is set for Dec. 29.
