The Ontario government is asking residents and businesses to share their priorities as it begins consultations for the 2026 provincial budget.
The consultations, announced Nov. 21 by the Ministry of Finance, are intended to support the next phase of the government’s plan to build what it calls a more competitive, resilient and self-reliant province. The work builds on commitments outlined in the 2025 Fall Economic Statement.
“As we prepare for the 2026 Budget, we want to hear directly from the people of Ontario about what matters most to them, from keeping costs down and taxes low, to creating good jobs and getting shovels in the ground on critical infrastructure,” Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy said in a statement. “Together, we will continue to navigate global challenges, safeguard our economy and ensure Ontario remains the best place to live, work and raise a family.”
The province is looking for feedback from workers, families, business owners, organizations and communities. Input can be submitted by attending in-person consultation meetings across Ontario, sending written submissions by mail or online, or completing an online survey.
The government says it will continue to take a responsible and balanced approach to fiscal management while investing in workers, businesses and public services. More information on how to participate is available through the province’s budget consultation portal.
