The U16 Girls Wallaceburg Airhawks have kicked off a month-long bottle drive, asking the community to donate empty cans and bottles to help support the team over the holiday season.
“Help support our team by donating your empty cans and bottles this holiday season!” the team said in its announcement.
Donations can be dropped off at Wallaceburg District Secondary School between Dec. 3 and Jan. 3. The team has also scheduled a special drop-off night on Jan. 6 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Residents who prefer a pickup can contact the team to arrange one.
“Every can and bottle truly makes a difference. Let’s recycle with purpose and help our Airhawks soar!” the team said.
The Airhawks say proceeds from the drive will help support their Wallaceburg-based basketball program.
