Woman charged after phone stolen from Chatham restaurant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 32-year-old Chatham-Kent woman is facing charges after a phone was stolen from a Park Avenue East restaurant Sunday afternoon.

Police say a 26-year-old Chatham man accidentally left his phone behind and returned moments later to find it missing. Surveillance footage identified a suspect, who was later arrested nearby.

She is charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. She was released with conditions and a future court date.
