Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Chatham-Kent police arrested a 37-year-old Wallaceburg man Tuesday after Canada Border Services Agency officers detained him at the Windsor Tunnel on an outstanding warrant connected to an intimate partner violence investigation.
Police said the warrant stemmed from a Nov. 26 report involving a 42-year-old Wallaceburg woman. The man was charged with harassing communication and a warrant was issued when officers were unable to locate him at the time.
CBSA officers contacted Chatham-Kent police at about 2:32 p.m. Tuesday after the man attempted to enter Canada and was taken into custody. Chatham-Kent officers attended the tunnel and arrested him on the strength of the IPV-related recognizance warrant. He was brought to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a court date set for Jan. 6, 2026.
