Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 49-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested in connection with a theft reported last month at a retail store in Wallaceburg.
Police were called to the McNaughton Avenue business on Nov. 15 after a man was seen selecting several items and leaving without paying. Surveillance footage helped identify a suspect, and officers later obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
On Dec. 5 at 8:09 a.m., officers located the man at a Third Street address in Chatham. He was arrested on the outstanding warrant, then released with conditions and a future court date.
