Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 19-year-old Chatham woman has been charged after a reported road-rage incident resulted in a man being sprayed in the face on Saturday.
Police were called to Park Street around 4:54 p.m. after a 27-year-old Chatham man said a dispute between two vehicles escalated. He told officers he followed the other driver to a nearby residence, where he approached the vehicle and was sprayed with what he believed to be bear spray. He retreated to his vehicle and required additional medical attention.
Officers later located the woman and arrested her. She is charged with assault with a weapon and was released with conditions. She is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 27, 2026.
