Walpole Island First Nation will welcome Santa Claus on Saturday, Dec. 13, as the community prepares for a full day of holiday events, including a public skate, a parade and a Winter Solstice Dance.
Public skating will run from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Walpole Island Sports Complex, followed by horse and carriage rides available at the same location from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Santa Claus Parade will begin at 4 p.m., starting at BK School and ending at the sports complex. Parade registration information can be seen on the event flyer above.
The celebrations will continue into the evening with the Winter Solstice Dance, scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Walpole Island Sports Complex.
Organizers are encouraging community members to take part in the full day of activities, from skating and watching the parade to dancing alongside Santa and his elves.
