Walpole Island man charged with impaired operation after being found in running vehicle

Walpole Island Police Service officials allege: A 33-year-old Walpole Island man is facing impaired driving-related charges following an early-morning incident reported by a concerned community member.

Walpole Island Police Service officers were called to the Gen 7 gas station at about 6:17 a.m. on Dec. 17, 2025, after a report of a male passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle. Police said officers found the man and observed signs he was impaired by drugs. He was arrested at the scene.

The man has been charged with impaired operation, refusal to comply with a blood demand, and possession of a Schedule I substance. Police said his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle involved was impounded.
