On Sunday December 21, 2025, Elsie (Elsa) Krahn (nee Klassen) passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 92.
Predeceased (1984) by her loving husband Nicholas. Dear mother to Virginia (Richard-2025), Caroline (Clayton), Doug, Patty (Ulf), Judy, Mark (Trudy), David and Jason. Loving grandmother to Marissa (Steve), Meghan, Matthew, Carly (Michael), Chelsey, Cassandra, Samuel, Nathaniel, Lauren (Brittany), Liam, Myles, and Brent. Great grandma to Maxwell, Zachary, and Tyson.
Elsie is survived by her sisters Agnes and Helen, brother Ed (Nancy), sisters-in-law Gertrude, Margaret, and Rosie, and many nieces and nephews. She also is predeceased by her sister Hilda, brother Harry, brothers-in-law Abe, Henry, Peter, and Ed, sister-in-law Elsa, and son-in-law Richard.
Elsie was born in Pierson, Manitoba. As a child, her family lived in several places in southern Ontario with Pelee Island being a favourite for her. At 24 years old, she married Nicholas Krahn and together they welcomed 8 children. They moved to the Port Lambton area in 1961 and that was where Elsie called home for the remainder of her life.
With kindness, love, and quiet strength, she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a dedicated and active member of the Port Lambton United Church; her faith was an important part of her life. She was a volunteer with Sombra Home Meals for almost 40 years, and she worked for Lambton Elderly Outreach for about 7 years before retiring to enjoy cooking, baking, gardening, daily walks in her community, reading, crocheting, knitting and, most importantly, family time.
Her family is grateful for the love and support shared during this time. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the Port Lambton United Church (466 William St.) on Saturday, December 27, 2025 from 11am until 12:45pm. Her funeral will follow at 1pm. Arrangements entrusted to Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231).
