Driver arrested after two-vehicle collision in St. Clair Township

OPP officials allege: A driver is facing multiple charges following a two-vehicle collision in St. Clair Township early Sunday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers with the Lambton County detachment were called to the intersection of Brigden Road and Plank Road at about 1:40 a.m. on Dec. 21, 2025, after receiving reports of a collision involving two vehicles.

Both drivers were taken to hospital by Lambton County Emergency Medical Services with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Following an investigation, a 43-year-old Plympton-Wyoming resident was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act. The charges include operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, dangerous operation causing bodily harm, and four counts of driving while under suspension.

Police also initiated a 45-day vehicle impoundment as required by statute.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and later released. A court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 28, 2026, before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia.

Lambton OPP say community safety remains a priority and officers will continue to enforce impaired driving laws. Anyone who suspects an impaired driver or observes suspicious activity is urged to contact police at 1-888-310-1122.
