Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 28-year-old woman from Chatham-Kent has been arrested in connection with a retail theft investigation dating back to October.
On October 16, 2025, at approximately 7:08 a.m., Chatham-Kent Police Service officers responded to a reported theft at a retail store on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg. Video surveillance footage was reviewed and the woman was identified as entering the store and leaving with merchandise without paying.
As a result of the investigation, police formed grounds to charge her with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
On December 29, 2025, at approximately 3:39 p.m., the woman was located on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg and arrested on the outstanding endorsed warrant. She was transported to police headquarters and released with a scheduled court date of January 29, 2026.
