Joint investigation leads to multimillion-dollar cocaine seizure in Lambton County

OPP officials allege: A London resident is facing drug trafficking and importation charges following a coordinated joint investigation that resulted in a substantial drug seizure in Lambton County.

Police say that on Dec. 23, 2025, just before 1:30 p.m., an Ontario Ministry of Transportation commercial motor vehicle inspection led members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, the Lambton County Community Street Crime Unit and the Border Enforcement Security Task Force to attend the MTO scales located off Highway 402 in the Township of Plympton-Wyoming.

As a result of the investigation, officers seized approximately 137 kilograms of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $4.11 million, along with a quantity of Canadian and U.S. currency and other offence-related items.

A 43-year-old man from London has been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and importing a Schedule I substance, both in relation to cocaine. The accused has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
