OPP officials allege: An individual is facing a stunt driving charge following a traffic stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police in Chatham-Kent.
Police say that on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, at approximately 9 a.m., an officer with the OPP stopped a passenger vehicle on Brook Line in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. As a result of the stop, a 28-year-old from Chatham was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with driving a motor vehicle while performing a stunt, related to excessive speed.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and the vehicle involved was impounded for a period of 14 days.
The OPP is reminding drivers to respect their communities and comply with all laws, stating that risky, illegal and dangerous driving behaviours put the safety of citizens and neighbourhoods at risk. Police are encouraging the public to report impaired drivers and dangerous driving behaviours by calling 911 in emergencies or contacting the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122.
