Wallaceburg man charged following threats made toward police

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 20-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged following an investigation into threats made toward police officers.

Chatham-Kent Police Service said it received numerous phone calls to its front desk on Jan. 1, 2025, at approximately 2:31 p.m., during which threats were made toward police. The calls continued over a short period of time.

Officers attended a residence on Wallace Street, where the man was located and arrested. Further investigation revealed he was bound by a probation order with conditions.

The accused was charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death, harassing communications, failure to comply with a probation order and being intoxicated in a public place. He was transported to police headquarters, where he remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
