OPP officials allege: An individual from the Bothwell area is facing charges following an impaired driving investigation in Dawn-Euphemia.
On Jan. 3, 2026, shortly after 2 a.m., members of the Lambton County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police conducted a traffic stop on Gould Road near Kent Line. Following the investigation, a 28-year-old driver was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with operation while impaired and operation with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, as well as an offence under the Highway Traffic Act for an obstructed licence plate.
A 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension was imposed and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. The accused was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on Feb. 24, 2026.
Police continue to urge the public to report impaired driving by calling 911 in emergency situations, or 1-888-310-1122 for non-emergency complaints involving impaired, aggressive or careless driving.
