Chatham-Kent to host 2026 CBL all-star weekend

The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers will host the 2026 Canadian Baseball League all-star weekend, set for July 11 and 12 at Fergie Jenkins Field.

The Canadian Baseball League announced the selection on Tuesday, citing the franchise’s strong performance and game-day atmosphere since joining the league two years ago.

“Chatham-Kent has been an extremely successful franchise since entering this League only two years ago, both on-field and off. The atmosphere at Fergie Jenkins Field on game day is vibrant, and it will undoubtedly be even more dynamic with the various events we have planned for All-Star Weekend,” said CBL Commissioner Ted Kalnins.

Festivities will begin Saturday with a full slate of skills competitions, including the Home Run Derby. The all-star game, featuring North versus South, will be played Sunday, July 12, with rosters selected through a combination of fan and media voting.

Organizers say the celebration will extend beyond the ballpark, with Tweedsmuir Avenue closed to traffic throughout the weekend and converted into a family-friendly festival zone featuring activities, food and entertainment.

The league says further details, including special guests, will be announced early in the 2026 season.

The Canadian Baseball League is Canada’s only fully professional baseball league and will mark its 108th season in 2026. The league features former MLB, minor league and elite NCAA players, including talent from the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Panama and Japan. Teams are based in Barrie, Brantford, Chatham-Kent, Guelph, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Toronto and Welland.
