Mary ‘Jane’ Daniels

Sadly, and very heavy hearted we announce the passing of our loving mom Mary “Jane” Daniels (nee Cooper) on Wednesday, January 7th ,2026 at the age of 80.

Jane was born in Wallaceburg and was the beloved daughter of the late Ila (nee Wilson) and Clayton Cooper. Predeceased by her longtime partner Leo Rustin (2017) and husband William Daniels (1984).

She was a devoted and loving mother to Laurie (Mike Randall) Hofmans, Doug (Rhonda) Daniels, the late Bill Daniels (2024), the late Lee Daniels (2021), Mark Rustin, Cathy (Doug) Billing, Chris (Caroline) Rustin and Michelle Brown. Cherished Grandmother of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Dear sister/sister in-law of Eilleen (late John) Janssens, Susan (Tom) Yazbeck, Joyce (late Mike) Cooper, Lucie (John) Cooper-McTavish, Tim (Penny) Daniels and Edna Paulovics. Predeceased by brothers Bob (Late Monica) Cooper and Bill Cooper. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

Jane enjoyed travelling, riding quads, crafts, playing darts, sitting by the river watching the boats going by or sitting on her deck watching the birds eating at her bird feeders. She also loved being involved in any activities or events that her children or grandchildren were participating in and was called grandma or mom by most of their friends.
Jane’s gregarious nature was loved and appreciated by all. Her kindness, creativity and zest for life will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will also be leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and unforgettable adventures.

The void left by her passing is immeasurable but there is comfort in so many wonderful memories that she has left us with.

Special thanks to The Bayshore Team, especially her nurse Jill Boel, Dr. MacSweeney and her team and to St. Joseph’s hospice for all their care.
