Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A 21-year-old Sarnia man is facing multiple criminal charges, including attempted murder, following two related incidents reported on Jan. 10, 2026.
At about 12:10 a.m., Sarnia police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 1200 block of Afton Drive. Officers learned a dispute had taken place between the accused and a 40-year-old man. Police allege the accused drove a red Mitsubishi SUV onto the victim’s front lawn and struck an e-bike, then exited the vehicle and approached the residence while holding a metal pipe before leaving the area. Charges were initiated in relation to the incident, and efforts were made to locate the suspect.
Later that day, at approximately 1:46 p.m., police were called back to the same area for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Officers located an adult male with serious injuries. Video evidence reviewed by police showed the same vehicle involved, and the SUV was seen leaving the scene. The victim was transported to hospital and later listed in stable condition, with the extent of injuries still under assessment.
As a result of the investigation into both incidents, a 21-year-old man of Exmouth Street in Sarnia was arrested and held for bail on charges including attempted murder, dangerous operation of a conveyance, mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply with a release order. Following a bail hearing, he was remanded into custody.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing with the Criminal Investigations Division.
