Comber woman charged with impaired driving after crash

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 61-year-old woman from Comber has been charged with impaired driving following a single-vehicle collision in Tilbury.

Police said officers responded late Jan. 11 to a report of a vehicle that had left the roadway on Morris Line and entered a nearby bush. The driver called 9-1-1 and was unable to exit the vehicle.

Officers observed signs of impairment at the scene. The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and breath testing later showed readings above the legal limit.

She was charged with impaired operation and operation over 80 milligrams and was released with conditions. She is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 28.
