Man arrested on warrants following intimate partner violence investigation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 45-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested in connection with an intimate partner violence investigation after police issued a warrant for his arrest.

Chatham-Kent police say officers responded on Dec. 26, 2025, at about 2:32 a.m. after receiving a report that a woman had arrived at a complainant’s home with injuries, alleging she had been assaulted by her former partner. Following an investigation, police formed grounds to arrest the man, but were unable to locate him at the time, leading to a warrant being issued.

The victim was provided assistance from Victim Services and EMS.

Police located the man on Grand Avenue West in Chatham at about 10:21 a.m. on Jan. 15, 2026. He was arrested, transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

He is charged with three counts of failing to comply with a probation order and break and enter to commit assault.
