Woman charged with assaulting police officers in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 40-year-old Chatham woman has been charged after an incident involving police at a residence on Cardinal Crescent.

Police were called to the home on Jan. 17, 2026, at about 3:52 p.m. after the woman requested assistance removing another individual from the residence. During the interaction, police say the woman became aggressive and assaulted officers. No injuries were reported.

She was charged with assaulting a police officer and was released from police custody with a future court date.
