Man arrested in Wallaceburg on outstanding warrant tied to stolen credit cards

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 38-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested in Wallaceburg on January 22 after police executed an outstanding warrant related to a theft investigation dating back to last summer.

Chatham-Kent police say they originally responded on August 22, 2025, to a report of a stolen bicycle belonging to a 17-year-old Wallaceburg resident. The bicycle contained bank cards and personal documents at the time of the theft. While the bicycle was later found unattended at a local park, the victim’s belongings were not recovered.

Police say the victim’s credit card was later used at a business on Dufferin Avenue. Surveillance footage helped investigators identify the suspect, and a warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

The accused was located on Fork Street and arrested without incident. He was transported to police headquarters and remains in custody pending a video court appearance on January 23.
