Chatham-Kent police accepting applications for cadets and experienced constables

The Chatham-Kent Police Service is accepting applications for police cadets and experienced constables as part of its ongoing efforts to support community safety and service delivery.
Police say the service offers a policing career in Chatham-Kent, a community in southwestern Ontario that combines urban amenities with small-town living. The municipality is described as offering a high quality of life and affordable housing, making it an attractive place to live and work.
The service said it provides competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, placing it among comparable police services across Ontario. CKPS said it is committed to supporting members through fair compensation, wellness initiatives, professional development opportunities and a healthy work-life balance.
The police cadet program is designed as an entry point for those interested in a policing career, providing exposure to police operations and community engagement. The service is also recruiting experienced police constables who have completed at least one year of policing and their probationary period.
Additional information about qualifications, application requirements and the recruitment process is available on the Chatham-Kent Police Service website. Those interested in applying for cadet or experienced constable positions can contact Const. Marlene MacLennan, recruitment officer, by email at ckpscareers@chatham-kent.ca.
Experienced officers with questions regarding salary and benefits are encouraged to contact Sgt. Jason Herder, president of the Chatham-Kent Police Association, at Jasonh@chatham-kent.ca.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said it is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from individuals whose backgrounds reflect the diversity of the community it serves.

The Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board will host its 2026 Community Presentation and Forum on Tuesday, March 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham.

“The annual CKWPB Forum is an opportunity for employers, policy makers, service providers, and community stakeholders to come together and learn about what is happening in Chatham-Kent’s labour market.
