Woman arrested in Blenheim on outstanding fraud warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A woman was arrested in Blenheim on Jan. 27, 2026, in connection with an outstanding warrant stemming from a fraud investigation.

Police say the investigation dates back to Jan. 16, 2025, when a 35-year-old woman from Chatham inadvertently left her debit or credit card in an automated teller machine at a financial institution in Blenheim. The card was later used without authorization to make multiple in-person and online purchases over several days.

A 48-year-old woman from Blenheim was charged in connection with the incident and later released with conditions and a court date. Police say she failed to attend court, resulting in a warrant being issued for her arrest.

On Jan. 27, 2026, at about 4:05 p.m., officers located the woman on Talbot Street West in Blenheim and arrested her on the strength of the warrant. She was taken to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters, where she is being held for bail.
