The Kent Federation of Agriculture is inviting Chatham-Kent producers, agri-businesses and community organizations to take part in Canada’s Agriculture Day on Feb. 10, 2026, with a coordinated food donation drive aimed at supporting local families in need.
Each year, the federation organizes food donations on Agriculture Day for both the Chatham-Kent Salvation Army and Outreach for Hunger, with the goal of assisting families experiencing food shortages and financial hardship. Organizers say the initiative relies heavily on the generosity of the local agricultural community and its partners.
The federation is encouraging participation through donations of locally produced food items or financial contributions, which will be used to purchase food products for distribution. In recognition of contributions, donor names will be acknowledged through related media releases, public announcements and social media platforms.
Community members are also invited to attend the donation collection event, which will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. on Feb. 10 at the Salvation Army Church in Chatham, located at 46 Orangewood Blvd.
The Kent Federation of Agriculture Board expressed its appreciation for the continued support shown each year and noted that all donations, large or small, are greatly appreciated.
