Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 40-year-old Chatham-Kent man is being held for bail after being arrested on an outstanding warrant in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police said officers originally responded on Oct. 16, 2025, at approximately 11:03 a.m. to a disturbance on King Street East in Chatham.
Police allege two individuals were involved in a physical altercation in which one male was thrown over the top of his vehicle by the accused, causing damage to the front passenger side panel.
The accused was arrested at the time and charged with “Mischief under $5,000.” He was released with conditions requiring him to report to the Chatham-Kent Police Service every Saturday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to sign in, commencing Sept. 27, 2025.
Police said the accused failed to comply with his release order and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Feb. 10, 2026, at approximately 11:24 a.m., the accused was located at the intersection of Centre Street and School Street in Chatham and arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant. He was transported to police headquarters and remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
