Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 52-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection with an alleged threats investigation and probation violations.
Chatham-Kent police say that on Oct. 2, 2025, at approximately 1:19 a.m., officers responded to a report of threats at a health facility on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. Investigation revealed the man had allegedly made threats to the facility’s security, a physician and other staff members.
Police say further investigation determined the accused was bound by a probation order issued Sept. 10, 2025, prohibiting him from attending the health facility except for a pre-scheduled medical appointment or a medical emergency.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death and one count of failing to comply with probation. Police say he was transported to the South West Detention Centre and appeared in video court on Oct. 8, 2025.
The accused was later released with conditions requiring him to report in person to his probation officer within two days. Police say he failed to attend and was charged with an additional count of failing to comply with probation. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.
On Feb. 11, 2026, at approximately 3:32 p.m., the accused was located on Wellington Street West in Chatham during a person stop and arrested on the strength of the outstanding warrant. He was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.
