Residents are invited to lace up their skates and take part in a series of free skate sessions at arenas across Chatham-Kent from Friday, Feb. 13 through Monday, Feb. 16.
Friday’s sessions, sponsored by CK Promoting Healthy Living, will run from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dresden Arena and from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Chatham Erickson Arena.
On Saturday, Feb. 14, CK Promoting Healthy Living is sponsoring free skates from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Bothwell Arena and from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Blenheim Arena.
Sunday, Feb. 15 will feature multiple sessions throughout the municipality. A skate sponsored by CK Kiwanis will take place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Chatham Memorial Arena. From noon to 1:30 p.m., a session sponsored by New to You will be held at the Ridgetown Arena. CK Promoting Healthy Living will sponsor a 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. skate at the Dresden Arena. At the same time, a session sponsored by St. Clair College Alumni will be offered at the Chatham Thames Campus Complex. From 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., an anonymous donor in support of children’s activities is sponsoring a skate at the Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.
Family Day on Monday, Feb. 16 will include additional free skates. From noon to 1:30 p.m., the Ridgetown District Agricultural Society in partnership with the Ridgetown Library will sponsor a session at Ridgetown Arena. Exit Reality is sponsoring a 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. skate at the Chatham Thames Campus Complex, while the Tilbury Area Action Team will sponsor a 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. session at the Tilbury Arena. From 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Presteve Foods is sponsoring a skate at the Wheatley Arena. CK Promoting Healthy Living will sponsor a 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. session at Dresden Arena, and Main Street Credit Union will sponsor a 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. skate at Chatham Erickson Arena.
