Students at Holy Rosary Catholic School have been recognized for their writing and reflections in the 2025 Royal Canadian Legion Remembrance Day Poster and Literary Contest.
Principal Jessica Verstraeten said the school community was proud of the students who participated and the recognition they received at both the local branch and regional zone levels.
“We are very thankful to the Wyoming Legion for supporting opportunities like the Remembrance Day Poster and Literary Contest,” said Verstraeten. “Our students put a great deal of thought and care into their submissions, and we are proud to see their efforts recognized at both the local branch and regional zone levels.”
At the branch level, hosted by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 388 in Wyoming, several students earned top honours in the Intermediate Poem/Essay category. Hailee Groening received first place, Eleni Kouzounas placed second and Clara Packet placed third.
Groening also went on to earn second place at the zone level in the same category.
The annual contest encourages students to reflect on the meaning of Remembrance Day and to express their understanding through writing and art. School officials also thanked Krista Morrison, Youth Education Comrade with Branch 388, for her continued support of youth education and remembrance initiatives.
