Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 31-year-old man has been charged after a break and enter involving a weapon at a residence on Harvey Street.
Police responded at approximately 12:29 p.m. on Feb. 22, 2026, following reports of breaking glass and a person attempting to enter a home.
Officers say the suspect used a large axe to break a rear window before entering the residence. Significant damage was reported.
Police located the accused inside the home.
He is charged with break and enter and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The accused was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on May 14, 2026.
