Man charged following intimate partner violence investigation in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A Wallaceburg resident is facing multiple charges following a domestic disturbance investigation.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service says officers responded on Feb. 24, 2026, at approximately 2:11 p.m. to a residence in Wallaceburg.

Police say a 64-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 65-year-old woman, with both individuals from Wallaceburg. Investigators also determined there had been previous incidents of physical assault.

As a result, the accused has been charged with assault, uttering threats to cause death (four counts), and assault by choking, strangling or suffocating.

He was transported to police headquarters and remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
