Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: One person has been arrested and another remains wanted following a theft investigation in Chatham, police say.
According to the Chatham-Kent Police Service, officers responded to a grocery store on Queen Street on Jan. 20, 2026, after receiving a report of a theft. Police say a female suspect left the store with stolen goods without paying, while a second individual allegedly assisted by arranging transportation.
Investigators later identified two individuals and issued warrants when they could not be located.
On March 3, 2026, a 33-year-old Chatham resident was arrested by court staff at the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West. The accused was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing. Charges include theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime.
Police say a 36-year-old Chatham resident remains wanted on an outstanding warrant for theft under $5,000.
