Man arrested on outstanding warrant after surrendering to police

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A man from Aylmer has been arrested on an outstanding warrant after surrendering to police in Chatham-Kent.

According to the Chatham-Kent Police Service, officers originally responded to an assault incident between two individuals at a residence in Tilbury on Aug. 12, 2025.

Investigators determined that an argument escalated and a 36-year-old man allegedly caused damage to the interior walls of the residence.

He was charged with two counts of mischief under $5,000 and later released with a court date of Sept. 23, 2025, which police say he failed to attend.

A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest.

Police said the man surrendered himself at Chatham-Kent police headquarters at about 10:46 a.m. on March 9, where he was arrested on the outstanding warrant.

He was later released with a scheduled court date of March 30, 2026.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said it remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the community and encourages residents to report suspicious activity.
