Two men charged after alleged air conditioner wire theft in Blenheim

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Two men are facing multiple charges after police say they were caught stripping wire from air conditioning units at a business in Blenheim.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said an officer on foot patrol was approached by a citizen at about 11:24 a.m. on March 9 who reported seeing two masked men removing wire from air conditioning units at a business on Talbot Street.

Police attended the area and located the suspects.

A 43-year-old man from Blenheim and a 43-year-old man from Chatham-Kent were arrested and charged with theft under $5,000, possession under $5,000 and mischief over $5,000.

Both were transported to police headquarters where they were held for bail.
