Update: Environment Canada has issued a yellow wind warning for Chatham-Kent, advising of strong west to southwest wind gusts reaching up to 110 km/h this afternoon into early evening as a fast-moving cold front passes through the region. Forecasters say winds will initially gust to around 100 km/h before gradually diminishing later in the afternoon in extreme southwestern Ontario and across remaining areas this evening. The strong winds could lead to local utility outages, difficult driving conditions and the potential for damage to roofs, fences, tree branches and temporary structures, while high-sided vehicles may be especially affected. Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and remain alert for flying debris.
