Sarnia Police Service officials allege: A 75-year-old Sarnia man has been remanded into custody after police say he breached court-ordered conditions restricting his proximity to local trails and public spaces.
Police said the man had previously been charged in June 2025 in connection with a series of indecent act complaints in areas including the Howard Watson Trail and Wawanosh Wetlands. He was later released with conditions prohibiting him from attending within 10 metres of the Howard Watson Trail, the Rapids Parkway Trail and other public areas such as parks, swimming areas, daycare centres, school grounds, playgrounds and community centres.
He was arrested again on Sept. 28, 2025, for allegedly violating those conditions near the Howard Watson Trail.
On March 18, 2026, at 8:41 a.m., police say a GPS-equipped ankle monitor alert indicated he was within 10 metres of the Howard Watson Trail in the Telfer Road area. He was located and arrested the following day.
He was held for bail on a charge of failing to comply with a release order and, following a hearing, was remanded into custody.
