Chatham-Kent man charged with probation breach after being found in downtown vestibule

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 39-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing a charge after being found inside a business vestibule on King Street West.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a call for service on March 25, 2026, at approximately 5:55 a.m., regarding an unwanted individual.

Upon arrival, officers located the man sleeping inside the vestibule. Through investigations, police learned he was bound by a probation order prohibiting him from attending the downtown location.

The individual was arrested and charged with failure to comply with a probation order.

He was transported to police headquarters, where he is currently being held for bail.
