Traffic complaint leads to impaired charge in Rondeau Provincial Park

OPP officials allege: One person is facing impaired driving charges after a traffic complaint at Rondeau Provincial Park.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers were dispatched to the beach area at about 7:32 p.m. on March 23, 2026.

Following an investigation, a 39-year-old individual from Michigan was charged under the Criminal Code with operation while impaired — alcohol and drugs, and failure or refusal to comply with a demand.

Police said a 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were also initiated.

The accused was held for bail and appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on March 24, 2026.

Police are reminding the public to report suspected impaired drivers and dangerous driving behaviour by calling 911 or contacting the OPP.
