OPP officials allege: A 68-year-old Petrolia resident is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop early Saturday morning in Enniskillen Township.
Members of the Lambton County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police conducted the stop on Lasalle Line near Oil Heritage Road at approximately 12:10 a.m. on March 27, 2026.
Police said the driver was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, and having an improper number plate light.
A 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were issued.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on May 4, 2026.
Police are reminding the public to report suspected impaired driving by calling 911 in emergency situations or 1-888-310-1122 for non-emergency complaints.
